"How would you know about lust? Have you ever felt lust before? Maybe it's love and you're just calling it lust. Did you ever think of that?"
"No. Because I don't believe in love. Therefore, what I feel for McCall is lust. But he doesn't find me attractive enough to have sex with, so the itch isn't getting scratched. That only makes the need worse. For me, anyway."
"You are so frustrating. I thought we'd cleared up your misconceptions about sex and love last night." Josie bit her lip and closed her eyes. "What can I do to make you understand what you're missing?"
D.J. was frighteneda new emotion for her, though she seemed to be experiencing it quite a bit lately. She didn't like it. Besides the fear, she ached. She was dizzy. She didn't want to talk. "There's nothing you can say," she snapped. "So go away."
Josie opened her eyes and squinted at D.J. "Do you really want me to?"
D.J. opened her mouth to say "yes," but something stopped her. In truth, she'd started to enjoy Josie's hovering habits. And the angel had saved her life on two occasions. D.J. could see where having a guardian angel paid off, especially on this assignment. But all Josie's talk about love and forever was driving her nuts. Unfortunately, since teaching D.J. to love was Josie's mission, D.J. didn't think she'd be able to get the angel to shut up on that score.
"All right," D.J. admitted. "You have been kind of useful so far. It'd be nice if you stuck around until I figured out who's after McCall. But you've got to stop this matchmaking. Even if I did plan to go
